As part of our participation, we conducted live demonstrations of SPECTRUM Power 5 (SP5), showcasing its advanced SCADA and DMS capabilities. These highlighted how SP5 addresses the unique challenges of key market verticals like utilities, infrastructure, and transportation, offering tailored solutions to enhance monitoring, control, and efficiency across operations.

A standout for Power Automation (PA) was our involvement in the EDGE-funded project with Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) and National University of Singapore (NUS):

“Optimization of Energy Management in Multiple Micro-grids System Based on Predictive Control and Artificial Intelligence.”

Contributing to the development of an integrated, real-time optimized energy management system and software, aiming for a remarkable 10% energy savings, is a source of great pride for PA.

In a recent visit, our CEO, Ben Tay, expressed deep appreciation for the successful early completion of their SCADA Hardware Upgrade Project—a testament to impeccable teamwork and collaborative efforts.

As we celebrate this achievement and our enduring relationship, we eagerly anticipate many more years of collaboration, striving to consistently make a positive impact for our valued customer!

The main components of the programme include empowering workers to identify both inefficiencies and solutions, promoting collaboration among the team to exchange best practices and ideas, engaging workers so that they are encouraged to speak up and have their opinions heard, providing trainings to keep workers equipped with necessary skills, and recognizing workers’ achievements.

PA shares the same belief as SMRT in that we believe that the best thing we can do for our employees, who are our most important asset, is to provide them with opportunities to upgrade themselves. By using the knowledge gained from the programme, PA has enhanced its operational efficiency, improved customer satisfaction, and reduced costs.

The conference offered valuable insights and discussions on how to mitigate these challenges using key strategies to strengthen cybersecurity frameworks, transition to renewable energy sources, promote energy storage technologies, enhance energy efficiency across various sectors and optimize grid management with the latest solutions using Spectrum Power^TM 7 (Advanced Distribution Management System with Low Voltage Grid Management, Energy Management System with Renewable Energy Integration, and Power Generation with Optimization Scheduler).

Power Automation (PA) is able to leverage the insights and knowledge gained from attending the conference to develop a range of innovative, efficient, and tailored solutions to address the energy challenges and opportunities of customers. These solutions can help them optimize their energy systems, achieve cost savings, enhance sustainability, and embrace the transition to a clean and resilient energy future.

As part of this work, Professor Christos was invited to give a talk titled “Towards a Less Artificial Intelligence.”

Professor Christos spoke about the limitations of AI and how the ability of human brain to learn and retain knowledge exceeds that of AI, all while using less power.

He presented a mathematical model of the brain based on neuroscience principles, which efficiently simulates millions of neurons and synapses.

He also discussed ongoing experiments using this model, including the development of a language acquisition system that mimics biological processes.

A management retreat was recently held at Sentosa to provide a conducive environment for Power Automation’s top management and board directors to discuss critical issues, goals and priorities, business initiatives, company’s progress, and growth strategies.

Apart from the formal discussions, the intervals during the retreat allowed the management to connect through informal conversations and share ideas, promoting a sense of camaraderie.

One Team, One Goal

Overall, the retreat was a successful and valuable experience, and it helped the management in aligning goals and vision. Power Automation believes that by working together as one team, we can continue to thrive and achieve even more growth in the future.

Moreover, we understand the pivotal role of a competent management team in driving the growth and success of our company. For this reason, we have enrolled our management team in an excellent management training program offered by SMU to obtain the Certified Professional Business Manager. This program comprises a series of courses aimed at enhancing their proficiency in key areas such as leadership, personnel management, communication, and finance.

Learning is never ending

We are convinced that nurturing a culture of continuous learning will lead to increased employee satisfaction and productivity, which in turn will enhance Power Automation’s competitive edge.
